The objective of the article is to analyze the competent formation of librarians and information sciences professionals from three different perspectives: the socio educative dimension, the curricular and didactic dimension and the professional attitudes. Several methods were used to complete the research: a curricular didactic conception was constructed to back up the curriculum of librarians and information sciences professionals trained at Ecuadorian universities.
