The composite material consists of three phases: Nb2C, Nb3Si, and Nb solid solution (Nbss). The fraction of SiC particles added in the Nb matrix was 3%, 5%, and 7%, respectively. Flexural strength, Vickers hardness, and compressive strength at room temperature were improved with the increasing of SiC content. Among them, compressive strength and fracture toughness were higher than those of Nb/Nb5Si3 composites.
