Deep neck infection following nasogastric tube misplacement

Nasogastric tube placement is performed thousands of times daily with minimal difficulty and few reported complications. We are reporting a case of nasogastric tube misplacement resulting in the first reported penetration of the deep neck/parapharyngeal space and subsequent deep neck infection.
