Description
Summary:When starting a scientific research on a broad theme such as management of manufacturing processes, researchers are faced with the unknown that emerges from their unfamiliarity to what has been done in this area of science. In this context, this article aims to provide a process for building the knowledge required by researchers at the beginning of their work, particularly regarding: (i) the identification of articles with scientific recognition and aligned with the theme of management of manufacturing processes under the focus of its results published between 2001 and 2011 in order to compose the research theoretical framework and (ii) the analysis of the articles characteristics (12 articles in the theoretical framework selected and 458 articles cited by this framework) in order to describe statistically the most outstanding articles, authors, journals and keywords of the selected framework. The intervention instrument adopted to accomplish this demand is the process ProKnow-C (Knowledge Development Process - Constructivist), which is presented as a method that enables researchers to begin their studies looking for relevant articles on their research subject, according to their boundaries, as well as authors and journals.
