| Summary: | The information and communication technologies combined with mobile computing enable new forms of knowledge and higher quality in health care. Objectives : To use new software for mobile devices in health epidemiologi - cal survey of the users registered in Basic Health Unit Augusta Meneguine in the town of Viamão (RS). Methods : We used a standardized questionnaire to col - lect information, registering the data through software. Results: We discovered that almost half of the users survive with incomes ramging between one and two minimum wages, that a quarter of the population was obese, and that the percentage of users with tooth decay and partial or total edentulism was high. Conclusions : It is evident that mobile computing capabilities can potentially contribute to health care. When profiling the population in question, it becomes clear that, from both socioeconomic and health standpoints, it finds itself in an extremely precarious situation. |
