Aim: to identify the perception of nurses regarding nursing consultation in primary health care. Methodology: it is an exploratory literature review based on articles published in the database Scientific Electronic Library Online – SciELO, using the following keywords: Nursing in Primary Care, Primary Health Care, Family Health Program and Nursing Consultation. Results: eleven (11) articles, published between the years of 1996 and 2011, were found. Based on a qualitative approach, we have sought to understand the role of nursing consultation in the Family Health Program – PSF, its importance and the perception that nurses and users have about it. We concluded that the nurse values the nursing consultation, considers it important and recognizes its potential to promote comprehensive and significant changes. The physical area, facilities, and materials also greatly influence the nursing consultation which was perceived as a contribution to diabetes mellitus control, consisting of an opportunity to promote therapeuticadherence. Final considerations: the nursing consultation is a key part of the PSF. Although it has been valued lately, it is necessary a greater public awareness about its importance and purpose.http://www.revistarebram.com/index.php/revistauniara/article/view/10Enfermagem em Atenção primáriaAtenção Primária à SaúdePrograma Saúde da FamíliaConsulta de Enfermagem..
