Description
Summary:碩士 === 淡江大學 === 金融研究所 === 83 === The thesis is a study of technical efficiency and allocative efficiency of domestic banks in Taiwan. Be composed Panel Data by 22 banks from 1981 to 1992, give some distribution assumption on error term, and to established a full system of Translogarithmic cost equations. Technical inefficiency and allocative inefficiency of banks by time to time is analyzed by using Maximum Likelihood Estimation. As far as sample bank is speaking, the result shows that: First, banks in Taiwan have economics inefficiencybviously. Second, allocative inefficiency more severityhan technical inefficiency. Third, Efficicncy is not improved in banking industry. Forth, bank''s scale is independent to efficiency levels. Fifth, private banks have a good technical efficieccy, and public bank''s allocative efficiency is more better.
