Summary:碩士 === 國防管理學院 === 資源管理研究所 === 85 ===   Concurrent engineering reduces the time needed to get a product to market by allowing different groups of engineers to work in parallel in different design and manufacturing tasks. Howeve, the success of such technique depends on knowing and sharing the information of individual phase activity throughout the product life cycle. These includes design and manufacturing information, development and process information, and organization information, etc.   In addition, the product structure and manufacturing procedures become more complex, the mainteacce of product data consistency become more difficult. Current product data managment technique, such as data storage, data query and data security, is unsatisfied. An advanced method to solve the mentioned problem ultimately is necessary.   In this research, an object-oriented approach is addressed to conquer the difficulty in maintaining the data consistency of numerous product in concurrent engineering environment. This approach uses the inheritance, encapsulation, and polymorphism characteristics of object-oriented technique to establish an integrated model. It could be used as an environment for developing a product data management(PDM)/object-oriented database(OODB) system. A prototype system is also presented to demonstrate the efficiency and perspective of this research.
