Therefore, the reconstruction of the 3D models based on computed tomography images is widely used. The purpose of the research is to create the stereolithographic 3D models and employ computer software technique in order to assist the process of oral-maxillofacial surgery. The image processing software was chosen to achieve the reconstruction of the 3D model in computer, and also to generate the stereolithography model. Due to the variety of the selected cases of patients, the techniques used in the existing software are different. This research evaluates the limitations of the existing software via several clinical cases, and to induce the rules of "layer division" and "domain division" to establish curved surfaces for pre-surgical simulation via the functions of computer aided design software. With the assistance of professional surgeons, we have accomplished a few cases of pre-operation and simulation, and successfully apply in the real surgery. Six cases have been selected from those cases we participated in last two years. The patient''s history and the methods we employ are also discussed and summarized. From the results of these cases, it has been concluded that the applications in stereolithography models and computer-aided techniques for pre-operational simulation in oral-maxillofacial surgery would effectively reduce the time of operation and the risks of the patient during surgery. Meanwhile, it increases the probability of success in surgery. Jing-Jing Fang 方晶晶 2000 學位論文 ; thesis 84 zh-TW
