Despite these negative factors, technology innovation nowadays has made our society blooming at tremendous speed. Everything is possible. Although the economic miracle had leaded Taiwan’s industry to the first or second place around the world in the past, we gradually lost our strength in recent years as the inflation of cost on labor and other resource become scarce and expensive. More and more local businesses are moving out for their profit in other countries. Frankly, it means that only R&D can help Taiwan’s industries keep up with the trend of the world. The third industry, service, should take the responsibility for Taiwan’s economic development in this century. The so-called 4th industry, which can make profit by using our knowledge, can convert Taiwan’s industrial structure into a whole new type, leading us to a promising future in local or oversea business. The allied chain business, a typical creation of Know-How, can be called the standard knowledge economy; namely, the 4th industry. Whether these prosperous businesses could revive Taiwan’s industry to another economic miracle under the competitive circumstance, this study will proceed with the questions over the response to tough environment, satisfaction of work, and organization promise. This research, therefore, primaring focuses on the supervisors who are decision maker, director, and staff in allied chain business in Taiwan, and the business may contain of education, rental library, laundry, water-orientation, communication, cafeteria, beauty shop, transportation, and so forth. After giving them the questionnaires (708 sent, 269 received, and 257 available), we can therefore continue our subsequent procedure over the research of quotient of tough environment, stress response and working attitudes. Listed below are the conclusions. 1. The relationship between AQ and work attitudes: (1) The relationship between the scores of control and job satisfaction is significant. (2) The relationship between AQ and intentions to quit is significant. (3) The relationship between AQ and organizational commitment is signigficant. 2. Female employees need to increase their AQ scores to be able to enhance their work performance. 3. The chief executive officers of franchisers in Taiwan increase their AQ scores to enhance their competitive advantage.
