Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東科技大學 === 機械工程系 === 90 === Employing the Nedderman and kinematic model [8] and the boundary conditions for granular media in a two-dimensional flat-bottomed hopper, boundary-value problems were constructed. The heights of the stagnant zone were experimentally measured after centric and eccentric hopper discharge.We postulated that the kinematic constant would be proportional to the height of the stagnant zone. For eccentric discharge, employing experimental results and the Newton-Raphson method, kinematic constants were obtained. The profiles of the horizontal and vertical velocity components for centric and eccentric hopper discharge were then calculated, respectively.The research work reported here provides additional theoretical knowledge about granular flows in the hopper to workers in this field and also enhances the kinematic model application to granular flows.
