A survey was conducted to analyze how different Participation Motivation and Leadership Behavior affected the samples of a group of 172 coaches randomly selected from Elementary Schools in Taipei City. Using descriptive statistics, independence t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe’s Method in the data analysis, this study focused on findings the following factors among these coaches: 1. What were their key motivations to attend and participate in the team sport? These key motivations included: 1) oneself- accomplishment, 2) duty, 3) social contact / peer pressure, 4) need, and 5) achievement. 2. How was the their participation motivation related to different genders, different experiences, different educational training backgrounds, different working year, different appointments, different schools based-in-service education, and different compensations arrived at the significant differences? 3. What were the key driving factors for them to take the lead in the team sport? These factors included: 1) social support, 2) training and instruction behavior, 3) democracy behavior, and 4) positive feedback. 4. How was their leadership behavior related to different ages, different educational backgrounds and different seniority in the career?
