Description
Summary:碩士 === 臺北市立師範學院 === 國民教育研究所 === 90 === Abstract This teaching and assessment research took place over a period close to one year, in addition, besides experienced the “School Based Management (SBM)---Kindergarten Curriculum Development Workshop”, and this also helped me to get fully submerged in the research. During the research process, my work became an integral part of my life. These experiences led to my defining the research objectives as follows: 1. Inquire into the suitability of Multiple Intelligences use in Taiwanese education. 2. An analysis of the use of the Project Spectrum in a kindergarten class, and an evaluation of the results of its implementation. 3. Inquire into the whole research process, and put forward feasible suggestions for the reference of school administrative units and future researchers. I took a kindergarten class attached to an elementary school in Taipei County as the research target. In the class, there were a total of 24 students (not including two special needs children). Project Spectrum activities were carried out; the results of the activities were evaluated. Throughout the implementation, participation, and observation processes, the following information collection tools were made use of: video recording, tape recording, daily-record of thoughts, interviews, and observation journals, etc. Within the linguistic intelligence field, news broadcast, story-based activities, and movie reports were made use of. Within the mathematical field, dinosaur games were made use of. Within the scientific field, floating and sinking activities, and combination activities were used. Within the movement field, obstacle races acted as the principal activity; observation of games was also carried out. Within the musical field, activities involving musical perception were carried out. The classroom model was made use of throughout the community. Finally, a work style checking and verification table was made use of for the evaluation of the activities carried out. With regard to the duty parents have to educate their children, activities were carried out involving both child and parents. The Project Spectrum was formerly carried out between September of 2001 and April of 2002, a period of close to nine months. During this period of time, when searching for the ideal educational route, I realized that my own knowledge was insufficient. I also gained a comprehension of what the future prospects were. With regard to the implementation of the Project Spectrum, I have the following conclusions and suggestions: The liberal multiple intelligences concept can be used in a variety of ways to assist with the education of children. It can be made use of to assist children who are ordinarily overlooked. I am confident that this liberal concept will provide a great deal of inspiration for domestic educational reform. Of the results obtained from the implementation of the Project Spectrum, and from the graphs showing the children’s level of intellect in different fields, it was clear from the very beginning that the children all had a great deal of room for further development. Based on the SPSS system, and carrying out the interdependent T test, noticeable results of .001 were obtained. This provides verification that the series of educational activities and evaluations provided by the Project Spectrum has the ability to discover the specific areas of superior intellect each child possesses, and can give rein to this hidden ability. Suggestions l Suggestions to the Administration Departments of Schools It can be said that each school holds the key to the learning door for its students. The administration departments also play an extremely important role. They need to give appropriate assistance, provide common resources, and give teachers the power to make their own decisions. If these measures are carried out, the future for education will be bright. In addition, administration departments should promote the establishment of “teacher research groups.” This will help to eliminate the atmosphere of indefiniteness within schools. l Suggestions for Future Research The implementation of a “museum-like study scenario” is the direction that teachers should look to in the future. Classes do not always have to be conducted in the classroom. The resources of the community should be made full use of, for example the library, the park, and the police station. Such a scenario will make it possible for a diverse range of studies to be carried out, providing children with a variety of learning methods. In addition, when the Project Spectrum activities are being made use of, an in-depth inquiry can be made into just one or two fields. In this way, it will be easier to maintain the overall shape of the research, and will not lead the researcher to being rushed off his or her feet. Furthermore, research should be carried out to discover whether the weak and strong intellectual points of the individual testing teachers has any effect on the educational activities. If for example, the teacher has particularly strong language skills, they can in turn frequently arrange games, stories, and readings. Teachers should provide each other with support and assistance. In this way, it will be possible for kindergarten kids to enjoy balanced development throughout the eight intellectual fields. With this research in mind, a work group should be set up in order to coordinate the work of the researchers. It can also be used to resolve any issues that come up throughout the process. In the days that follow, the important thing to remember is to use any method considered appropriate to help with the kids’ learning. A child can make use of his/her strong intellectual fields in order to shape for him/herself a process of learning that will assist with the improving their weaker intellectual fields. The ability of each individual must be viewed from the perspective of the diverse range of intellectual fields. The “studying style” also needs to be systemized and integrated. During this studying process and the child’s growth, the most important thing not to forget is that the best friend of a child is his/her parents. Learning resources within the home should be made more use of in order to transform difficulties into successes.
