The behavior of composites in a non-isothermal environment is strongly related to the thermal properties, especially under an environment of rapid heating or cooling. This study is focus on developing prediction model of the effective thermal conductivity for spiral woven fabric composites. The particular fiber architecture burden spiral woven fabric composites with a space-dependent nature. In order to analyze the spiral woven structure mathematically, analytical models are developed based on the assumption of sine/cosine or circular arc yarn shapes and then an idealized model is proposed based on linear yarn shape. From these two geometric models, space-dependent fiber orientation and volume fraction are presented. Prediction of spiral woven fabric composites composed of different components is presented. A fairly agreement is found between the present and published results. A parameter estimation technique is used to estimate the effective thermal properties for verifying the predictability of the prediction model. A good agreement is found between the temperatures that measured in the transient heat conduction experiment and that calculated using the prediction equations formulated by the estimated parameters.
