Summary:碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 企業管理學系 === 91 === Parcel delivery service has developed for 40 years in USA where the first parcel delivery service company was UPS in 1953, for 20 years in Japan where the first one was Yamamoto Transport Company in 1976.Taiwan’s companies have got alliance with Japan’s parcel delivery service companies from August in 1998, for example T-JOIN` President Transport Company ` Taiwan Pelican Express Company and etc. In Taiwan , parcel delivery service is in emergence now , but how will it develop in the future ? The purpose of this study is to lead the future of Taiwan parcel delivery industry from USA and Japan’s trend. The dimension of this study is according the services characteristics ` industrial structure` operations` information technologies` regulations and policies. The Results of this study are described as following: 1.Taiwan’s industrial structure will be oligopoly market in the future. 2.The first mover of overnight express will be the leader in the market in the future. 3.The existing regulations in Taiwan do not have the positive impacts on Taiwan’s companies. 4.Taiwan’s companies should develop more services for individual customers in the future. 5.Among the existing companies in Taiwan, Taiwan Pelican Express Company has poorer services but without lower pricing, so it has fewer competitive advantages. Although the business environment in Taiwan is different from USA and Japan, from the trend of USA and Japan, we can describe some futures of Taiwan’s parcel delivery companies.
