The key branches of Taiwan’s economy are mainly dependent on the trade with other countries. In terns of international transportation, though the percentage of the air transportation is on the increase, yet marine transport still plays the main role in international transportation. The percentage won’t change too much in the short-term. In the analysis of the routes of the marine transport, the trade partners with Taiwan are America, Japan, South Korea, China, Hong-Kong and Singapore which are around the Pacific Rim. And all of these countries, besides America, are in East-Asia, so this thesis is a research focusing on the relationship of the East-Asia marine logistics model. There are two parts in this research. The first part is using the Global Trade Analysis Project model to analyze the relationship of the economy and trade with all countries and the impact and effect of joining in the World Trade Organization. The second part is using the Integer Programming Model to analyze the East-Asia marine logistics model and the impact of the Cross-Straight commerce. And this research uses the data generated from the GTAP model to transform the monetary trade values into estimated transport volumes to make the connection between the two parts. The result of the research by analyzing the economy and trade model shows that the effect of joining WTO is useful in export expansion for Taiwan. The total added import values is more than that of export, because the larger amount of import growth in agriculture. For the manufacturing sector, the added value of export and import are almost equal. In conclusion, it is very useful for Taiwan to join in the World Trade Organization. In analyzing the East-Asia marine logistics model, if cost only is considered, the location advantage of the Kaohsiung port isn’t obvious before the Cross-Straight commerce begins. But after the Cross-Straight commerce begins, the advantage of its location is clearer. The Cross-Straight commerce for Taiwan, not only reduces the transportation cost, but also makes the Kaohsiung port replace Hong-Kong, and become a transshipment center for South China.
