Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣師範大學 === 社會教育學系在職進修碩士班 === 91 === Internet brings people a new channel to acquire and search information around the world. Using Internet to query and gather information has become an inevitable skill for anyone in modern society. For a young student, to develop strong information literacy on Internet is crucial to his/her future success. Government has also invested huge amount of budget to build up the IT infrastructure and related curriculum for this purpose. This study investigates the Internet behaviors of the junior high school students in Taipei city. It also examines the relationship between students’ Internet behaviors and their learning efficiency. Two types of Internet behaviors are examined: access behavior (when and where to access Internet) and information behavior (why and how to obtain information from Internet). A survey form was designed to collect data from students to profiling their Internet behaviors. With the survey form, a learning self-efficiency evaluation form is attached to evaluate the learning efficiency of the student. Total 478 valid responses are examined. The following are several key findings in this study: 1. Gender significantly distinguishes the way of accessing Internet. 2. Grade significantly distinguishes the demands on information. 3. Students who proactively use Internet to solve problem in course show higher learning self-efficiency. 4. Students who spend relative longer time or more frequent on Internet show lower learning self-efficiency. Besides the key findings and conclusion, this study also provides, based on the survey results, suggestions to teachers, the parents of students, and education units.
