Construction materials affect the structural guality and engineering. Cost effectiveness is an key factor for a good civil design . In this study, value analytical procedure was to applied on concrete mix design. Based on the value analysis of component materials and functional properties such as compressive strength, workability and durability. Value coefficients were computed. It is found that slag or fly ash replacement for portland cement can enhance the concrete function and reduce manufacturing cost. In other cases, various functions may be taken into account and different weighting coefficients can be given for matrix operation.
