Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 化學研究所 === 91 === Abstract The electrochemical and optical properties of triarylamines depend on the nitrogen-nitrogen distance correlating the electronic coupling of nitrogen redox centers. Optically transparent thin-layer electrode (OTTLE) coupled with UV/Vis/NIR spectroscopy was used to examine the oxidation products. At one-electron oxidation states, the triarylamines absorbs light mainly in near-infrared (NIR) region. These are nitrogen-centered p-bridged mixed-valence compounds showing intervalence-charge transfer bands. This band is assigned to the IV-CT excitation associated with a photoexcited electron transfer from a neutral triphenylamine center to the triphenylamine radical cation center; the band disappears when the radical species are further oxidized to the dications. Electrochromism of triarylamines were examined by direct electrochemical deposition of the polymer onto an ITO glass and its absorption was monitored by a UV/Vis/NIR spectrometer. The cell was confirmed to be deep blue by applying a potential of about 1.2 V, and pale yellow at 0.8 V.
