Description
Summary:碩士 === 靜宜大學 === 資訊管理學系研究所 === 91 === Due to the improvement and growth of information technology, information system plays more important role of an organization. However, traditional database system can’t meet the demand of decision-making, data mining becomes a hot issue in the field of database application. Since universities face stronger competition, it is critical to mine more meaningful information from large data. Therefore, the goal of this study is to apply data mining technique on course planning information system for the purpose of assisting students to select courses and helping schools’ administrators to arrange courses. In this study, the related literatures about data mining, association rules, and sequential pattern analysis are collected first. Current course planning information systems are also compared. Following that, a framework of sequential pattern-based course planning support system is proposed. Then, a prototyping is developed to explain how the system work and to demonstrate the feasibility of our framework. In the prototyping, sequential pattern analysis is used to mine sequential courses. These sequential courses are stored in rule base in advance. Several online analysis functions are provided for students and schools’ administrators. Finally, the results and future researches are discussed.
