Dr. Lin experienced three decades, that is, the final period of Chin dynasty, Japan’s ruling on Taiwan, the restoring of Taiwan. Stimulated by the enthusiasm and mission of being one of a minority of scholars at that time, he criticized education in Taiwan. Therefore, the research tried to generalize his thinking from his books, his theory, and the memoirs of Dr. Lin by descendants. In addition, the research put much emphasis on education during Japan’s ruling on Taiwan such as culture oppression by Assimilation Policy, race identification and the use of official language, the quality change of Taiwan Education by Kohminka movement─Lin was chosen as supervisor of culture and movement. The research is expected to contribute to the study on Taiwan Education and provided advices when adjusting culture and education policies. When looking into the research, the first part is the introduction, including the purpose, the motivation and the research method adopted of the research. Chapter one is the introduction of the developing thinking process of Dr. Lin. Chapter Two is his thinking of culture identification education, describing how he treated the dispute between assimilation and anti-assimilation and how he blended both. Chapter Three is the educational reflection on religion identification, illustrating the West and the East religion and criticizing the chaos viewpoints of religion identification of Taiwan. Chapter Four is the educational reflection of politics identification. Though Taiwan being a colony, he tried to describe the reasonable future of Taiwan. Chapter Five is the introduction of his educational practice, from which you can see his ideals.The conclusion was illustrated Dr. Lin Mosei’s educational practice and his thinking of improving Taiwan education culture. As to cultivating the new generation of Taiwan, he made out the map. From which, there are some basic problems and solutions worth learning by the educational authorities concerned in Taiwan.
