Summary: | 碩士 === 國立台北師範學院 === 兒童英語教育研究所 === 92 === The research aimed at to design a database of primary English listening and reading ability assessment into an on-line test system. First, the researcher screened out eight main topics for the database of the tests on which the researcher devised test contents and examined test items through content validity. Then, the test items were established onto the on-line test platform for 219 sixth graders, research subjects, to test. The test results were analyzed in three aspects: difficulty, discrimination, and reliability. Besides, the researcher made use of on-line questionnaires for English teachers and research subjects to evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of the database of on-line tests.
The major findings of the study were as the follows:
1. The result showed that the difficulty of the database was inclined to be low, which didn’t correspond with the ratio of difficulties the researcher preset.
2. As for the discrimination, Topic 3, 5, 6, 7, and 8 were fit in for the discrimination standard. However, the discriminations of Topic 1, 2, and 4 were inadequate.
3. All the eight topics of the database met to the criteria of the test reliability, especially Topic 3, 4, 5, and 7, whose reliabilities were above 0.8.
4. As for the results of the on-line questionnaires, English teachers and research subjects both showed high level of acceptance of the database of on-line tests.
