This study adopts documentary analysis to explore the moral curriculum in elementary schools. There are six chapters in this study. The first chapter presents the motivation, the second chapter is the literature review, the third and forth chapters discuss the moral paradigm and curriculum of modernism and postmodernism, the fifth chapter explores moral curriculum in elementary school education, and the final chapter intends to provide suggestions for the normal curriculum and further studies.
The major findings of this study are as follows:
1.Postmodern presents critical and liberal curriculum, but teachers may lost the actionable platform.
2.The moral paradigm of postmodernism leads to moral relativism, and neglects the generality.
3.Morality in elementary school curriculum should be integrated into the learning areas and issues, and respect and caring should be the main connotation.
4.Postmodern curriculum and the paradigm of morality definitely have some enlightenment to the moral curriculum in elementary schools.
According to the findings, this study intends to provide several suggestions for related stuff and further studies:
Suggestions for moral curriculum in elementary schools:
1.Cultivating teachers’ consciousness of curriculum.
2.The six important issues should be integrated into the curriculum.
3.To build a paradigm which combine occidental thoughts and our traditional virtues.
Suggestions for moral curriculum in elementary schools:
1.The studies of moral curriculum in elementary schools should be enhanced.
2.The connotation of morality which integrated into the learning areas should be analyzed thoroughly.
3.Encouraging teachers to engage in action researches.
4.Investigating the all related stuff about their opinions toward moral education.
