Studies of Diode-Pumped Nd:YVO Lasers with a Plano-Concave Cavity Around Fractionally Degenerate Resonator Configurations

碩士 === 東海大學 === 物理學系 === 92 === In this thesis,we study the characteristics of diode-pumped Nd:YVO4 lasers with a plano-concave cavity around fractionally degenerate resonator configurations. We find that there are multiple beam waists in this laser with fractionally degenerate resonator configurations. It is different from other resonator configurations that exhibit only one beam waist. The location of these beam waists can be found by succesively applying the mirror equation for their transformation. To know other properties of the laser around frationally degener rate resonator configurations,we measure output power and relaxation oscillation frequency as a function of cavity length. We find that when the cavity length increases around the degenerate region,the laser experiences power drop following by a peak. The power variation around the degenerate region enhences when the radii of curvature of output coupler increases or the reflection of output coupler decreases and disappears at high pump power. The power dip is shift to shorter cavity length and becomes broader at high pump power,which may be caused by thermal lens effect. The measuremend for relaxation oscillation frequency is consistant with that for power.
