碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 電腦與通信工程研究所 === 93 === This paper focus on the realization process of developing real-time software decoding, the MPEG-1 Layer III audio coding, on system on chip (SOC). We discuss the limitations and the approaches solving them according to the hardware environment of the digital signal processor in SOC. Furthermore, since the hardware platform we adopted is a resource restricted environment for development, we utilize the assembly language offered by DSP to enhance program efficiency in order to reach the purpose of real-time decoding.
