This research examines the same group before and after teaching, and focuses on 31 students with mental retardation in special classes of vocational schools to implement the 15-unit life education teaching. In the part of quantitative research, using a quasi-experimental methodology in combination with reverencing Dr. Y .C. Ho’s (1990) ”Sectional drawing of attitude of life ” as the commenting, materials. The information received is allotted and calculated according to the frequency and statistically analyzed according to paired t test. In the part of qualitative research, the researcher determined to pick 4 students with mental retardation in special classes of vocational schools as the interviewees, and conduct the interviews of semi-structure to proceed individual interviews with the assistance of “word-for-word interview draft”, “interview analysis records”, “unit learning list”, and the “complete repayment list of the courses” to comment on the effect of the life education teaching on the sense of life meanings of the students with mental retardation in special classes of vocational schools. The findings of the study were as follows: 1.The life education teaching has immediate positive effect which could last for 4 weeks on the charts of “ life meaning searching ” and “suffer acceptance ” of sense of life meanings of students with mental retardation in special classes of vocational schools. The changes of the interview analysis outcomes are the change of demand degree to family member (dependence, complaint → consider own future), attitude to nurturer (naturally →expect the independence ), the attitude of the life ( negative → aggressive, cherish ), the feeling of the handicapped manuals ( refuse→ the other people see their ability), the expectation of future ( obey the family arrangement → target establishes ). 2.Although the life education teaching doesn’t have the immediate effect on the “life control” and “death attitude” of the chart of the sense of life meanings of students with mental retardation in special classes of vocational schools, it has the effect of postponement. The changes of the interview analysis outcomes are the change of self-abandonment ( supressed the talent →the advantage be performance ), taking the responsibilities on themselves ( the others bears → taking the responsibilities on themselves ), death attitude ( fear, afraid → making a will in advance ). 3.The most popular way of life education teaching program with students with mental retardation in special classes of vocational schools is the outside of school visit. The second favorable way is video tape teaching and the group discussion ranks the third place. 4.The impression is most deep unit in the life education teaching program is A Knowledge of Mentally Retardation and New Life abortion is next. Making a Will in Advance ranks the third. 5.The life education teaching has the educational effect on the students with mental retardation in special classes of vocational schools. Based on the study results mentioned above, the researcher proposed specific suggestions to including to life education teacher, administrative organizations in charge of education and schools, the society and private groups for serving as a reference for life education promoters and follow-up researchers. 紀潔芳 2005 學位論文 ; thesis 256 zh-TW
