碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 家庭教育研究所 === 93 === The objective of this study is to discuss the lived experience of married professional women who are pregnant during graduate education. In-depth interview is adopted for this qualitative research in order for understanding of the inner world of interviewers and investigation of the influence of being pregnant on married professional women who are studying in graduate school whatever in the aspects of daily lives, family circumstances, and graduate education.Besides to present the nature of their experience, this study aims to interpret the deeper meaning behind. The findings of this research can be presented by five themes: 1. Being pregnant gives women great sensitivity, better to be pregnant after studying was finished: Being pregnant and receiving graduate education at the same time, the process full of varieties. If the situation permits, it is suggested that a married professional woman getting pregnant after studying was finished. 2. Pregnant emotions up and down easily. Pressures made the pregnant mother stressful: The emotions of mother-to-be would be easily affected by the discomfort of physiological changes or stressors from families, work or studying. Shall they have their own way express their feelings entirely, they are more easily to clam down themselves in short time and avoid negative effects on the baby. 3. Like a kaleidoscope, the marriage life is ever changing: Division of housework, children education, how to manage the relationships with mother-in-law and husband are the main courses that married professional women has to face. 4. Great help of social supports, thankful for concern and supports from families and friends: The concern and supports from families and friends plays an important role while a professional woman being pregnant during graduate education. They felt immense gratitude to those supports. In the final session, this research will propose, based on the findings of this research, some suggestions for married professional women who are pregnant and studying in graduate school and for those who are studying in graduate school and prepare to be pregnant.
