碩士 === 中原大學 === 工業工程研究所 === 94 === Rough-Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) is important to order management for the quick response to customer demands. Footwear manufacturing is a typical traditional industry that is labor-intensive. The application of RCCP in this industry is not as popular as in electronics and high-tech industries. As a result, footwear manufacturing industry is facing challenges in order promise, especially when the customer orders are of small volume and high variety. This research proposes a RCCP-based order promising mechanism for footwear manufacturing industry with Original Design Manufactures (ODM) capability. Assuming infinite equipment capacity, this mechanism accumulates the required capacity of customer orders at bottleneck equipment backward from order due dates to different time slots. By showing the expected bottleneck capacity constraints, what-if analysis can be conducted to adjust equipment capacity or identify feasible due date. The proposed approach has been successfully implemented to improve the order promising speed and accuracy, so quick response to customer demands can be realized in footwear manufacturing industry.
