In the process of manufacturing, two or more motors are often assigned to operate at the same speed, such as conveyer belt. The rolling line between these motors has to be maintained at a constant tension. If the tension exceeds the permission range, the control rule should increase or decrease the difference between two motors to adjust the tension. In this thesis, the multi PID controllers are applied in many aspects, such as the speed control of the master motor, the tension control and the synchronized control of the two motors. In order to verify the performance of the proposed control rule, a experimental prototype is developed in this thesis. The encoder is used to feedback the speed. The potential meter is used to convert the tension of the rolling line. The experimental results will show the robustness and the practice of the proposed controller.
