Ineguitably guasi-experimental design was used for the study, and the instruments included professional-based ability test, a test for the learning achievements of “Machinery Mechanics”, a test for problem-solving ability and guestionnaires to the students in the experimental group under learner-centered teaching strategy. Two classes, made up of totally seventy-four students in the Machinery Department of National Ta-chia Industrial Vocational High School, were chosen as study targets. Class B, including thirty-six students, was the control group, while the other Class A with thirty-eight students was the experimental group. Both classes participated in this study for thirty-six hours, including two hours per week for eighteen weeks. A pretest was given to both groups before experimental teaching. It aimed to catch on the difference of students’ basic knowledge and the problem-solving abilities. In the process, the students in the control group received the traditional teaching strategy, while the other students in the experimental group were taught by learner-centered teaching method. After eighteen weeks of teaching, both groups were given a test for “Machinery Mechanics” courses, a test for students’ problem–solving abilities and guestionnaires for students’ learning attitude. This study adapted descriptive statistics, students’ t-test of independence, one-way analysis of variance and Pearson product-moment correlation to carry out the statistical analysis. The following is the list of the study conclusion : 1. The result of learner-Centered teaching strategy in “Machinery Mechanics” shows better performance than the Traditional teaching strategy. 2. The result of learner-centered teaching strategy gets better representation on solving problems than the traditional teaching strategy. 3. The study shows there is notable relationship among students’ problem-solving abilities, “Machinery Mechanics” courses learning achievement. 4.
