This study, therefore, makes reference to the relevant theories and quantitative appraisement tools to “professional commitments”, “role stress”, “job satisfaction”, and “school climate”, structural appraisement index, and edits the “Questionnaire of Service Status of Senior High and Vocational School Counselors” through the due process of preparation of quantitative appraisement chart, consisting of “Scale of Professional Commitments Made by Senior High and Vocational School Counselors”, “Scale of Role Stress Sustained by Senior High and Vocational Counselors”, “Scale of Job Satisfaction to Senior High and Vocational School Counselors,” and “Scale of School Climate”. Through the questionnaire, the specimen data of some 598 school counselors from public and private senior high and vocational schools of Taiwan region are gathered and undergone the positive data analyses, viz., one-way multi-variate analysis of variance, canonical correlation analysis, cluster analysis, discriminative analysis, and structural equation model(SEM), that render the following results: 1.There are high professional commitments of senior high and vocational school counselors, including professional identity, professional involvement, pleasure of work, study, tendency of job retention, and professional ethics. 2.There are no differences in professional commitments among senior high and vocational school counselors irrespective of the variations in gender, position, employment with public or private institution, fields of expertise, scale of educational facilities, and workload. 3.There are differences in professional commitments among senior high and vocational school counselors as far as the age is concerned, the older the age, the higher, the professional commitments. 4.There are differences in professional commitments among senior high and vocational school counselors as far as the seniority is concerned, the higher the seniority, the greater, the professional commitments. 5.In consequence of “lacking in vision certainty”, the senior high and vocational school counselors “feel indifferent and bored” in counseling duty. 6.The senior high and vocational school counselors may well be divided into four(4) groups, such as “simply getting by”, “positively involved”, “absent-minded and incapable”, and “step-by-step”. 7.The role stress, job satisfaction, perception of school climate, and fitness of default model of professional commitments made by senior high and vocational school counselors can be pronounced idealistic.
