Taiwanese government spent lots of resources, including constructed several biotech scientific industrial park, trained R & D specialists by the supporting plans of National Science Council and Ministry of Economic Affairs, and even directly supported biotech companies. However, the performance of Taiwanese biotech companies cannot reflect the efforts, and most of them failed to have profit. This thesis is discussing the realistic difficulties of biotech companies from the properties of this industry. Three reasons including facing strong international competition, failed of developing new products, and failed to meet the demand of users are concluded. To resolve these problems, four winning factors are presented under the views of business administration, and indicated the Taiwanese biotech companies should focus on the niche market, utilize the research outcomes from universities and research institutes, focus on the field with controllable rare resources, and improve the evaluation process of new product development.
