Summary:碩士 === 台南女子技術學院 === 生活應用科學研究所 === 94 === This study investigated 5 step-families children’s parent-child interactions and personal characteristics through a series of small group counseling, individual interviews, survey, House-Tree-Person, and Kinetic Family Drawings at a public junior high school in Tainan city. After theme data analyses, major results were found as follows: 1.Parent-child interactions: (1)Most of stepparents conducted either permissive or negative parental practice toward their stepchildren. (2)An unsatisfied parent-child interaction existed on the stepfamilies. (3)Most of stepchildren hardly supported with their biological parents to have a new marriage. (4)Some elder siblings had very good interactions with their half-siblings. (5)Due to the negative stereotype impression toward the stepfamily, most of the stepchildren have a confused identity, especially in foreign stepmother. 2.Personal characteristics: (1)Most of stepchildren’s personality was agreeableness. (2)Through small group counseling strategy, most of stepchildren could improve their neuroticism personality. (3)Most of stepchildren’s identity style was moratorium. (4)Through the “House-Tree-Person” and “Kinetic-Family-Drawing” activities, most stepchildren could present their insight of self-evasion and satellite severance. (5)A homogeneous, cooperative and supportive small group could help stepchildren build positive personalities.
