Method: The subjects were 10 male Olympic second weight athletes (high: 175.2 ± 4.07 cm; and weight: 63.7 ± 3.30 kg). Physiology profiles including VO2max, the Wingate anaerobic power test, the amount of 30 and 60s continuous kicking , and physiological loading by heart rate, glucose, lactate acid within 30, 60, and 120 second with 3 rounds. Results: The mean muscle mass of the subjects was 52.56 ± 2.6 kg; mean body fat was 11.85 ± 1.73%; VO2max was 62.35 ± 5.15 ml/kg × min; anaerobic power was 8.11 ± 0.66 watt/kg, the 30s kicking counting was 46.3 ± 4.6, the 60 sec. kicking counting was 83.73 ± 9.9. After three-round kicks and simulated match, the heart rate of the first round and second round of the 30sec kicking were significantly lower than the simulated match (p<.05); blood glucose plumed deeply after the first and second rounds of the 120sec kick and simulated match (p<.05), but climbed up after the third round. It rose slowly in both cases of the 30 and 60 sec kicks. After the three rounds of the 120sec kick, the blood lactate of all three was higher than that of the simulated match (p<.05); in the 30 and 60 sec kicks, only the third round had higher blood lactic acid than the simulated match (p<.05). Conclusion: Male elite Taekwon-Do athletes of 58– 68 kg division tend to have high muscle mass, low body fat, high anaerobic power and aerobic ability. However, athletes have lower anaerobic metabolism than teams abroad. Hence, Taiwanese athletes should enhance training on anaerobic power. The heart beat rate and blood sugar of the 120sec. kick was similar to the simulated match. And blood lactate of the 120 sec kick is higher that that of the simulated match.
