碩士 === 國立高雄第一科技大學 === 財務管理所 === 95 === In recent years, Taiwan launched a Second-Stage Financial Reform, merger proposals involving several financial institutions are frequently heard. Following bank’s merger actions, the challenge for bank to find the right kind of leadership personnel to keep up its financial performance has become an important topic for all participants. This research tries to study the impact of leadership type on bank’s financial performance. The empirical results provide evidence that transactional leadership style has a positive and significant impact on bank’s financial performance. Successful banks need the right kind of transactional leader-managers who can give future vision, direction, and hope to their employee and institutions as a whole. Transactional leader-manager’s friendly and open leadership style makes it easy to build trust and loyalty and to motivate employee to do their best to finish organization goals.
