碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 體育學系碩士班 === 96 === A Study on Professional Competency of Taekwondo Coach Fu-Jen Catholic University Graduate Institute of Physical Education Student：Yen-Ni Wu Advisor：Dr. Hung-Yan Chen Abstract The purpose of this study is to have a better comprehension on the requirement of competence of Taekwondo coaches with different background and to examine the qualification and correlation between the three domains. The study is based on questionnaire survey. There were totally 502 surveys been given and 286 of which were collected. These data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and independent-samples t-test, One-way ANOVA and Pearson product-moment correlation. The conclusions as following： 1. According to the statistics, male indicates the majority in gender section while the education level is bachelor. Most of the subjects does the coaching at high schools and been hired as contract coach. The age group of 30-40 years old indicates the majority. Most of subjects have 5 to10 years of coaching experience while a large proportion of the subjects have participated in regional team when they were athletes and most of them coached regional team when they become coach. 2. As for the demand of professional competence, the ability of giving physical training ranks the highest. Instructior’s ability of the「general knowledge」ranks the lowest . 3. As for the correlation of professional competence, instructor’ ability, the notion of Taekwondo development ranks first while general knowledge of subject ranks last. 4. In regard of the difference of demanding degree of professional competence in Taekwondo coaches of different demographic variables, there was significant difference in years of experience, level of certification, level of the athlete that the coach had ever been, and certified level of a coach. 5. In regard to the correlation of requirements degree of professional competency in Taekwondo coaches of different demographic variables, it showed significant in different Sex, the education level, coach levels of school, job, age, tenure, level of certification, and both of the highest level as coaches and players. 6. All demand aspects and requirements of Taekwondo coaches’ professional abilities indicated a positive correlation. Key words: Taekwondo, professional competency Total pages：163
