Experiencing Japanese Kohminka Policy at Japanese colonization era and being baptized by mainland China Buddhism after Taiwan Restoration, Linyin Temple had a very important history value at not only Buddhist doctrine delivery but also the Temple building. The abbot was the essence of the Temple. The leadership style of the abbot would direct the Temple into different development. The building of the Temple was related with the retreating breath of the whole Temple. Linyin Temple was the research topic in this study. First, the history of the process of building the Temple, the leadership styles of all past abbots and the development situation of Linyin Temple today were discussed. Secondly, the Temple building, the painting and the Buddha were analyzed. Lastly, the poesies composed by Master Wu Shang and refined scholars were analyzed. Master Wu Shang converted Linyin Temple into a true Buddhism Temple. The environments of Linyin Temple were quiet and beautiful and suited the Buddhist to retreat. During the period that Master Wu Shang was the abbot of Linyin Temple, Buddhist education made Linyin Temple extremely famous; but when Master Wu Shang were dead, Linyin Temple was languished. It strayed from Buddhist doctrine to folk belief. The reason was blamed on the manager system. And this was also a big trouble. Even though during the period of the abbot of Shih,Ming-Zong today, Linyin Temple was still squally. The direction of Linyin Temple in the future assayed the choices of Shih,Ming-Zong .
