Summary:碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 高階經理人碩士在職專班 === 96 === Currently, the power industry is dominated by Taiwan Power Company(Taipower), a vertically integrated company in Taiwan. According to the Electricity Act Amendment Bill, the power industry will move towards a more competitive market under the deregulation policy. Then Taipower will lose monopoly position and the independent power producers(IPP) and cogenerators will create more competition in power industry market. The purpose of this study is to explore the competitive advantage srategies for Taipower to conquer the deregulation impact. In order to achieve this purpose, the reform experience of several advanced countries and the market structure of Taiwan power industry in future were explored first. Then the key success factors of industry were explored throurh the analysis of the external environment including the environment which Taipower will face and the competitive ecology in future. Finally, The internal environment including core competence and the business value chain of Taipower were analyzed. Base on the results of the analysis mentioned above, the competitive advantage srategies of Taipower were made. The core competence in value activities of Taipower are inbound logistics, operations, marketing and sales in primary activities and procurement, technology development, firm infrastructure in support activities. The competitive advantage srategies of Taipower are as follows: the low cost leadership strategies, the differentiation strategies, the focus strategies and the first mover advantage strategies. Because the electric product is less differentiation, the users will choose power supplier that can provide the lower price.Therefore, the most important strategy for Taipower is devote itself to lower the cost of procurement and operation to promote its competitive advantage. Furthermore, Taipower will face the losing of users after deregulation, it should also promote the quality of electricity and enhance the customer service to master the niche market.
