Summary:碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 教育學系 === 96 === The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships of elementary school teachers’ belief of “Zero Corporal Punishment” Education Law and discipline situation. Questionnaire survey and interviews were adopted in this study. All subjects were randomly selected. The subjects were 445 teachers from 60 schools in the four counties of central Taiwan, and 430 questionnaires were retrieved. Retrievable rate of the questionnaires was 96.6%, and 424 questionnaires were effective. The effective rate of the questionnaires was 98.6%. SPSS10.0 for Windows was used to analyze data. The statistical methods used were frequency statistics, t test, one-way ANOVA, and product-moment correlation analysis. Besides, the study uesd the qualitative methods to interview for four teachers. The results of interviews were under triangulation with relating literary analysis and questionnaire survey.According to the result of literary analysis, this study reached the following conclusions: 1.Teachers showed the affirmative understanting and belief of “Zero Corporal Punishment” Education Law, and the way of discipline tend to positive. 2.About behavior of dicipline, nearly forty percent teachers disapproved that the Zero Corporal Punishment Education Law definiens clearly. 3.There were significant differences existed among teachers’ age, years of teaching experiences, degree and scale of class in the causes on the teachers’ belief of “Zero Corporal Punishment” Education Law. 4.There were significant differences existed among teachers’ position in the discipline at present by teachers. 5.There had correlations between the discipline at present by teachers and the teachers’ belief of “Zero Corporal Punishment” Education Law. 6.Teachers’ belief of“Zero Corporal Punishment”affected the way of dicipline. 7.The disciplinary beliefs by teachers had obvious indications on the teachers’ belief of “Zero Corporal Punishment” Education Law. 8.The abridgement of education law and the interference with parents affected the way of teacher discipline. 9.Teachers confronted frustration by communication with parents closely and searching for supplementary measure. The followings were the suggestions based on above conclusions, and relevant suggestions were proposed for the educational administration systems, teacher training institutions, elementary schools’ administration systems, teachers and the references to future research.
