Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 環境教育研究所 === 96 === Through the experience and learning in Nature Center, the affection and awareness of the visitors toward the environment can be promoted. Most of the Nature Centers do not have sufficient personnel, which will affect the environmental education provided. Fortunately, since the Voluntary Service Law has been adopted, many volunteers have assisted the organizations to give play the influence. However, there is no existing systematic training provided to the volunteers, for which it focuses on particularity of the Nature Center. The objective of this study was to understand the existing training status of the volunteers in the Nature Center so that a suitable training model for the volunteers in the Nature Center can be established. It is expected to reach the expectation of the Center and satisfy the personal development of the volunteers. This study had selected seven types of existing public Nature Centers as the area to study, including National Park, zoo, botanical garden, forest recreation area, National Scenic Area, Nature Park and recreational area. In order to understand the training situation of the volunteers, the questionnaire had been used to investigate for 44 volunteers training units in Nature Centers. There were 36 questionnaires collected and the collection rate was 81.82%. One center from each type had been sampled for interviewing with the supervisors and volunteers in order to understand the view, requirement and suggestion of the supervisors and volunteers on the training model. Through the result of analysis, the current training status of the Nature Center can be understood. The "Nature Center Volunteers Training Model" was established in order to satisfy the requirements from both the Center and volunteers. The infrastructure of this Model involves training stage, procedures and major job items or goals. The following characteristics are included in this Model: 1. design especially for the Nature Center. 2. infrastructure is simple and easy to be understood. 3. it is easy to modify and apply. This study suggests that when the supervisors of Nature Centers recruit volunteers, and plan and implement the training courses, they should pay attention to the characteristics of the centers, and the background and motivation of the volunteers. Besides, the Centers should be integrated for the training to avoid from wasting the time of volunteers and the resources of the Centers.
