Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺東大學 === 教育學系(所) === 96 === This study aims to understand the present status and differences of work values and the levels of work satisfaction, and investigate the relevance between work values and the levels of work satisfaction for elementary school teachers in Pingtung County.
Adopting the questionnaire research method, subjects of this study are teachers of public elementary schools in Pingtung County in the 2007 academic year. Elementary schools in Pingtung City and Pingtung County are included, but private elementary schools are excluded. Two-stage sampling procedure is adopted. The first stage is the “stratified proportional sampling” where the stratification criteria are the locations of the school; while the second stage adopts “simple random sampling” to sample 600 teachers from sample schools as the subjects of this study. The research tool of this study is a “Questionnaire on the work value and the level of work satisfaction for elementary school teachers”. After compilation and analysis, the following conclusions are drawn:
1.The level of emphasis on work value for elementary school
teachers in Pingtung County is upper-intermediate, while
the “interpersonal interaction” aspect is the most highly
perceived.
2.The level of awareness on the level of work satisfaction is upper-
intermediate while the “interpersonal relationship” aspect was
rated the most satisfactory.
3.The overall work value and some stratifications may differ due to
gender, age, martial status, seniority, degree, job position and
the scale and location of school.
4.The overall level of work satisfaction and some stratification may
differ due to gender, seniority, job position and the scale and
location of school.
5.There is a significant positive correlation between the work value
and the level of work satisfaction in the overall and
stratification aspects.
Several suggestions are made in this study based on the above conclusions to serve as a reference for educational administrative institutes, school administrations, elementary teachers and future researches
