The researcher adopted a qualitative design, chose 7 subjects who have more than 5 years of traveling experiences, implemented a semi-structural interview which focused on travel experiences, perceived risk, travel benefits, enduring involvement or participation, and utilized an integrative method to analyze and discuss the collected data. This research discovers that independent travelers are greatly influenced by their visual and audio experiences. During their travel, they will constantly adapt themselves, holding a positive attitude to view risk as a chance to enrich unique experiences of life and to search aggressively for self-satisfaction. With the increase of travel experiences and fermentation of travel benefits, traveling has become an indispensable element of enduring independent travelers. Gradually, they have transformed from mere visitors into serious travelers and become addicted to it. Due to persistence and passion for independent travel, independent travelers insist that they travel constantly to expand the scope and depth of their lives. This study ends up with a "Theory of Eating Out While Traveling" which states independent travelers'' needs, perception, and reaction toward independent travel, and reveal some useful implication. none 游士正 2008 學位論文 ; thesis 110 zh-TW
