Summary:碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 特殊教育學系所 === 97 === The Study of Social Capital and Its Related Factors for Students with Mental Retardation in Senior High Schools Abstract The purpose of this study is to explore the situation and related factors of the social capital for students with mental retardation in senior high schools. The survey research adapts a self-designed scale. The samples are students with mental retardation of senior high schools in Taiwan with purpose sampling, and we received 721 effective respondents. The data was analyzed by frequency distribution, percentage, average, standard deviation, t-test, and one-way ANOVA. The results are described as following: 1. The situation of the social capital for students with mental retardation in senior high schools has higher score on “interaction with classmates and friends”, “interaction with teachers”, “interaction with family” aspects and has lower score on “community integration” and “participating activities of parents” aspects. 2. There are significant differences in the social capital among students with mental retardation of gender, studying grade, levels of severity, socio-economics status, the area of school regions, school size and the classification of schools. 3. In terms of prediction in the social capital, gender, structure of family, socio-economics status, the type of living, the area of school regions, school size and the classification of schools are the predictors. Discussions over fingings of the study were offered and some suggestions were made for the school, educational administrative authprities, schools, special teachers, and future study. keywords: senior high school, students with mental retardation, social capital
