Summary: | 碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 觀光暨遊憩管理研究所 === 97 === This article aims at examining the recreation participation differences between the Southern Fujianese and aboriginal residents in Liyu lake, Huailen. According to Washburne’s ethnicity theory (1978), different ethnic groups would participate in different recreation because of the unique cultural characteristic. Based on his theory, a purposive-sampling-survey was done in the Liyu lake community, to verify that whether different ethnic groups would participate in different recreation activities, use patterns, and recreation facilities usage. The classification of ethnicity was self-classified by the interviewees. To increase the recovery rate, this survey was done with a local resident’s accompany. Two hundred and forty-five effective questionnaires were obtained, including 73 Southern Fujianese, 106 Taroko, and 66 Amis. The result indicates that different ethnic groups reveal differences in recreation activities, use patterns, and recreation facilities usage. This result shows a positive outcome to the research question, and partially supports the ethnicity theory.
