A total of 493 elementary school teachers (138 male, 355 female) in Taiwan was sampled in this study. This study involved a survey that comprised of three sets of questionnaires: The translated version of Averill(1999)’s emotional creativity inventory, with three criteria (novelty, authenticity/effectiveness and preparedness), Klusmann, Kunter,Trautwein & Baumert (2008)’s “Job burnout – emotional exhaustion inventory” and “Job satisfaction inventory” that used to measure the occupational well-being. The quantitative of data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson’s correlation, t-test, ANOVA and regression analysis. The findings of this study were summarized as follow, 1. The emotional-creativity traits of all participants tend to “preparedness”. And for participants in different sex, age, married situation, teaching years, position, school size and area are not significantly different in emotional creativity. 2. All participants felt high level emotional exhaustion and satisfaction during their job. 3. The participants in different age are significantly different on emotional exhaustion (above 40 yrs< under 31 yrs) and job satisfaction (41-50 yrs>under 31 yrs).In different teaching years are also significantly different on emotional exhaustion and job satisfaction (21-30 yrs>3-10 yrs). And participants in different married situation, married teachers felt higher job satisfaction than single teachers. 4. All participants in different sex, position, school scale and area are not significantly different on occupational well-being. 5. The emotional creativity of elementary school teachers were positive correlated with emotional exhaustion(r=.10) and job satisfaction(r=.14). 6. Teachers who have emotion with high novelty and low authenticity/effectiveness emotions, they would have high emotional exhaustion. Besides, teachers who have emotion with high authenticity/effectiveness and preparedness, they would have high job satisfaction. 7. In four kinds of occupational well-being, High Satisfaction-High Emotional exhaustion(HS-HE), High Satisfaction-Low Emotional exhaustion(HS-LE), Low Satisfaction-High Emotional exhaustion(LS-HE) and Low Satisfaction-Low Emotional exhaustion(LS-LE). The emotional creativity average scores of HS-HE group were higher than other groups. According to the results of the study, some suggestions were made for educators and further studies.
