The variables of playing environment preferences including (1) biological preference, (2) activity preference, and (3) regional preference, and two aspects of playing behavior including (1) cognition development of playing and (2) social development of playing were investigated by this study. A total of one hundred and forty-four students were investigated by this study via face-to-face interviewing and cognitive mapping methods. The study results indicate that: 1. The factors of students’ environmental choosing intentions for play were mainly from biological preference, followed by activity factor and district factor. 2.There was a relationship between students’ grade and cognitive playing behavior. Higher grade students were more likely to choose rule playing games than lower grade students, and regarding social playing games, higher grade students were also more likely to participate in group''s playing games than lower grade students. 3. With respect to the relationship between gender and cognitive playing behavior, boy students were more likely to choose drama type games, and less likely to play frame type games than girl students. Regarding social playing games, boy students were more likely to participate in large group''s games than girl students. Key words: Environment Preference, Playing Behavior, Cognitive Map Yuan-I Eric Yeh 葉源鎰 2009 學位論文 ; thesis 132 zh-TW
