Overall speaking, “Remembering Taipei” is a romantic comedy, elements of two genres-- the radical romantic comedy and neo-traditional romantic comedy were combined. Apart from the romantic plot, the manifestation of comedy is accentuated in the screenplay. As the arrangement of the plot and structure, it strives to be straightforward, concise, and is very careful on handling the pace. “Remembering Taipei” describes the love triangle problems. In current study, effort to trace back to Qiong-Yao’s movie in 70’s was made, comparing the differences between “Remembering Taipei” and three-room movies. In the aspects of the characters, plotting, language, context and style, “Remembering Taipei” is more on the side of romantic comedy. There are, in fact, many comedies that deal with triangle relationships, for instance, one of them will be discussed later-- “Bridget Jones''s Diary” . Writing a commercial screenplay was not the major purpose of the author, instead, the author intended to move the audience by telling the story in the three-act structure way. The manuscript of “Remembering Taipei” was completed in mid-November of 2008, and was awarded second prize in the screenwriting competition “shoot along the trip”. However, “Remembering Taipei” was not a flawless piece of work by that time. After being modified repeatedly for six months, “Remembering Taipei” was still not perfect, but it is considered as a mature and complete work. The learning progress of encompassing the elements of one''s world view, individuality, environment and work is a long journey. Living in an era with obscure and confusing value judgment, we have to keep seeking for new perspectives, values and definitions to create a story to carry your point of view to the world. 李啟源 學位論文 ; thesis 101 zh-TW
