Nowadays the general consumer electronic products, such as mobile phones, MP3/MP4 players, MID, PDA have been visible everywhere, and the product development has been focused on miniaturization as well as high quality in design. Hence, the speakers and microphones are almost everywhere. To enhance the quality of the microphone, the receiving bandwidth of the microphone and the sound field variation of the receiving position will be the focus of the study. Because condenser microphones are of simple structure, small volume, and low cost, they can meet people’s demands in a wide frequency range. This thesis will do for the finest design and sound field analysis of condenser microphones. In order to get the best design of microphone receiving quality in hand held devices, the first step is to create a model of microphone unit and receiving system based on acoustic theory and the equivalent circuit conversion of acoustics, electricity, and mechanism. Then use this model of acoustic waveguide to simulate the characteristics of frequency response. Next, use the actual measurement data to verify the simulation accuracy and do the variance analysis. Finally, use Computer-Aided Design software, ABAQUS, to solve the sound field distribution so as to understand the relationship among microphone unit, Acoustic waveguide, and installation location as well as establish an effective way of microphone waveguide simulation and acoustic analysis.
