Factors “democratic behavior” and “caring behavior” in the leadership behavior that are made aware to the soccer team members across all age groups reach the significant level of variance. For team members within the age group “22 – 24”, awareness of the coach’s “democratic behavior” is significantly higher than that in the “19 – 21” age group. Awareness of “caring behavior” among the “16 – 18” age group is significantly higher than that in the “19 – 21” age group. In no age group does team solidity reach the significant level. 2. Awareness of coach leadership behavior and of team solidity do not reach the significant level for all groups of team members of different playing age. 3. Awareness of coach leadership behavior among different skill levels of team members reach the significant level for the factor “democratic behavior”, and the awareness among the group “school team” is higher than that among the groups “national team” and “county and municipal team”. For team solidarity, no member of the league A women’s soccer teams show significant variance. 4. For team members with different number of days practice per week, there is significant variance in factors “training and instructing behavior”, “democratic behavior”, “caring behavior”, “autocratic behavior”, and “awarding behavior”. In “training and instructing behavior”, “democratic behavior”, “caring behavior”, and “awarding behavior, those in the group “at least 6 days practice per week” show higher marks than those in the group “4-5 days practice per week”. In “autocratic behavior”, those in the group “4-5 days practice per week” show higher marks than those in the group “at least 6 days practice per week”. In team solidarity, there is no display of significance for all team members. 5. There is no significant variance in awareness in coach leadership behavior and team solidarity for members specializing at different playing positions. 6. In terms of the relationship between coach leadership behavior and the sense of team solidarity, there is significant variance in all the five dimensions of the former and the three dimensions of the latter, with the only exception being the correlation of team goal achievement and team tacit mutual understanding to “awarding behavior”. Abstract
This study aims at obtaining an understanding the relationship between coach’s leadership behavior and team cohesion of Level one collegiate female soccer teams. The approach of the study is by questionnaire. The subjects of study are participants in the 2010 National League A Women’s Soccer Games. The collected data are analyzed with descriptive statistical methods, One-way ANOVA, Scheffe Method, Product Moment Correlation etc. The following conclusions are reached:
