Description
Summary:碩士 === 開南大學 === 物流與航運管理學系 === 98 === In the past few decades, the relationship between mainland China and Taiwan is no longer absolutely hostile, and communications between the two sides of Taiwan Strait were gradually restored. As of now, the three links were officially restored, including direct flights, shipping and post; this is great news for those Taiwanese businessmen who invested in mainland China. The significant changes include direct postal, transportation, and trade. Take the transportation as an example, the direct flights save travelers lots of time on routing through intermediate destinations such as Hong Kong or Macau; in the past, people had to spend almost one day traveling from Taiwan to Shenzhen airport in China, which is a waste of time and money for travelers and businessmen. The mainland China has become world’s factory, as the sufficient land and low production cost have attracted many manufactures to establish their plants in China. We can conclude that China has significant influence on Taiwan’s economy, as one-third of Taiwan’s yearly GDP comes from China. After negotiating for many years, the three links were officially restored and this policy saves Taiwanese businessmen lots of time and cost. In the past few years, although some policies such as Labor Contract Law was brought into practice in China, and some of Taiwanese companies were considering relocate to India or Vietnam as these policies had increased their costs; however, after three links were officially restored, there are more companies consider to relocate to mainland China, or raise their investments in mainland China. This research survey questionnaire on Taiwanese businessmen in China, to understand their thoughts and reactions towards influences of the three links on cross-strait economy and trade, and the cross analysis of viewpoints is also carried out. Most of the Taiwanese businessmen give the three links very high evaluation, although there are still some technical or political issues need to be solved. During the initial stage of three links, there is room for discussion in terms of flight schedule, ticket price and location; however, for those Taiwanese businessmen who commute between Taiwan and China over a long period of time, they are quite satisfy about the current situation of the three links. In addition, they also hope to see better policy implementation of the three links in the near future. Keywords: Direct Flights of The Three Links, Cross-StraitTrade
